Class Description

The student will create a bracelet using 6mm round beads (balls) and strips of herringbone (bars). The kit provided for this class will contain silver 11/0 seed beads, 6mm snowflake obsidian rounds, and a silver button clasp as shown in the picture.

Skill Level

Beginner.  Prior knowledge of the herringbone stitch is useful, but not necessary.

  • Fireline or other beading thread
  • Needles
  • A bead board, mat, or comparable work surface
  • Scissors

Student who choose to supply their own beads will also need:

Teacher Bio

Joni White

Joni White is a long-time member of the Baltimore Bead Society (BBS). She has been making jewelry for about 20 years, beginning with strung beads, then progressing to other forms. She has a special love for chain maille, although she also enjoys seed beads, Kumihimo, wire work, and other projects. Joni began teaching classes for the BBS and has started to branch out to other venues.

Cancellation Policy

There will be no refunds given on classes canceled by the student after the registration deadline (one week before the start of class). A student who cancels will receive class handouts and any materials that are supplied by the instructor. If you are unable to come, please let the instructor know as soon as possible.

Class Registration Policy

Registration and payment MUST be done at least a week before the date of the class; this provides a minimal amount of time for the instructors to prepare for the class. Registration can be done in person at a meeting, or online. Always include contact info (email address and phone no., plus date and time and title of class, cost, check number) when registering for a class. If you pay at a meeting with cash, please be sure to get a receipt. No late sign-ups are permitted unless approved by the instructor in advance of the class; no walk-ins allowed. A late fee of $10 will be assessed for late registration. If you do get permission to register late, contact class coordinator to determine how to pay. Minimum of 3 students required for this class.
