The Baltimore Bead Society’s 2026 Bead Retreat, at Hallowood Retreat and Conference Center, 7300 Banner Road, Dickerson, Maryland 20842, February 21-22, 2026. Check in is Saturday at noon, check out is Sunday by 3:00 pm.

Class Description

Calling all members! The Baltimore Bead Society will be returning to Hallowood Retreat and Conference Center, 7300 Banner Road, Dickerson, Maryland 20842  February 2026 for another bead retreat!

Pack up your unfinished projects or start something new. Bead and sleep in the same building with great food, a roaring fireplace, beautiful scenery, and wonderful beading companionship.

Details:

  • Check-in Saturday at noon.
    • The registration fee includes your room, Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch
  • Check out is Sunday by 3:00 pm
  • Retreat registration is currently set up for single occupancy. If you would like to room with a friend please contact the Baltimore Bead Society president.

Activities:

  • Bring your unfinished projects, or anything you’re stuck on. Someone will probably know how to help.
  • Take part in the featured activity, Links!, based on Kelly Dale’s book, 3-D Peyote Shapes.
    • If you would like to engage in this activity, please purchase Kelly’s book for the necessary patterns.
  • Saturday evening will feature an optional “Yankee Auction” gift exchange. If you wish to participate, please bring a bead-related gift (valued  around $20) in a plain brown gift bag with a pretty bow.

Kit Information:

Please purchase Kelly Dale’s book, 3-D Peyote Shapes if you want to do the optional Links! activity.

  • The shapes featured in the book use size 11 and 15 seed beads.
  • Kits will not be provided, so choose your favorite shape(s) and raid your stash for the beads you’d like to use!

If  3-D peyote links aren’t your thing, you are welcome to work on your own project(s)!

Materials Needed:

Please bring whatever project(s) you are interested in working on, a work surface, and the necessary tools and findings.  Additional items you may find useful are:

  • Additional light
  • Magnification
  • A phone, tablet, or laptop to view Kelly Dale’s book or instructional videos on
  • Headphones
